Labor Rates

I'm getting some estimates to have our closet doors replaced and for a small deck(20' X 8') to be built in the front of our house.
What would be the going labor rate for this stuff? this doesn't include materials, so we are talking straight labor.
Thanks.

That's an impossible question to answer for a wide variety of reasons.

Re: the closet... straight rectangle? Ventilated shelving that only needs a pencil, level, hacksaw, drill & screwdriver? Two rows? High closet? Shoe rack? Vertical supports?

Deck (even more difficult):
Is the ground level? Pour footers with concrete or use DeckBlocks? Synthetic boards or ...? Exposed screws or a hidden fastener system? Do you want a rail & benches or a deck only? How high off the ground? How level is the soil? What is the soil compactness like? What shape to the deck? Steps required?

I have contacts that can do both of these for you, so send me a PM if you want references & are in the "Greater Austin area".

sorry for being vague.
I'll answer as best I can.
We are putting in closet doors that are just under 60 X 28. Right now they are sliding panel doors that are 8 ft tall. Drywall on top of the new doors. Pre hung if that helps.
Nothing done to the interior of the closets in terms of shelving.

The deck would be level since it is going over a slab of concrete. The concrete sort of forms a T with the vertical part being a concrete slab about 12 feet wide, and the horizontal part being a foot wide and 20 feet long. No pouring of concrete footers.
There will be a railing in an "L" shape along the front and 1 section of about 4 feet.

Sorry if I'm rambling.
The rate we were given was $45 per hour/man. Materials to be reimbursed upon receipt.
We live in Dallas, but thanks for any input.

I would ask for job prices since the specs are so well defined.

That way you pay a set price regardless of how long it takes conditional on not changing any requirements.
