So much of what decides awards of any sort these days isn't most deserving/worthy. Usually has to do with media group think, agendas, or marketing angles.
See also movies, music, intellectual/scientific, media, and just about all other genres really.
Yeah. But at 5-10-1, that doesn't spell NFL Offensive Player of the Year award. Guys like Drew Breeze and others should have been holding that award, not Kyler Murray.
