Dimitar Kutrovsky our number 1 singles and doubles player won his round of 16 match today coming back from 1 set down to win in three sets and advance to the quarters. He had won his first two matches in the rounds of 64 and 32 in straight sets. He is already qualified for all american status and tomorrow will play to try and reach the singles final four. He is the all time winningest tennis player (singles and doubles) in Texas history.

Dmitar and his doubles partnerJosh Zavala play their round of 16 doubles match later today.

These individual successes help at least a little to deal with the team disappointment in flaming out in the round of 16. BTW UVA didnt even make the finals losing to USC in the semis and USC ended up beating the 2 seed Tennessee in the team finals. I really thought the only team that could have beaten Texas was Virginia and the fact that they got upset and Texas would have played USC in the finals makes that upset to OU all the more painful.

Good luck to them, thanks for the info. At first I thought maybe you were talking about him being in the French Open and wondering why I had not heard about this in my watching it on tv.

Tough 3 set loss for arguably best player Texas' mens team has ever had. A great Longhorn who can hold his head high.

Most wins ever is a pretty big argument in his favor. I dont discount that Kevin did win the NCAA singles title while Dimitar's best finish is quarters and Curren was a tremendous player as a pro so he followed up on his college career with a more than solid pro one. Lets how Dimitar does in the pro's but from a purely college career standpoint Kutrovsky has a solid though by no means overwhelming argument as arguably the best to play at Texas.
