KU-KSU

KSU up 7 with 15 minutes to go. Good chance for an upset. I couldn't care less about the #1 ranking, but a KU loss would almost seal Texas' chances to win the Big XII title and help us land the 1 seed in SA. Go Wildcats!

I forget what player it was but they said they did not want to be ranked tops in the nation, that it did not matter. I guess the added pressure that comes with it, in their minds, is not worth it since it proves nothing at this time. In reality, coming into any arena with Texas on your jersey AND a top tier ranking is more than enough motivation to any team. 1 is just a number.

I will celebrate tonight's result not because it might lead to a No.1 ranking for our 'Horns (which I don't want), but because it gives us some breathing room in the Big 12 regular season race. It also bolsters the conference's postseason prospects as K-State was on the bubble before tonight.

The Jayhawks have won at least a share of the Big 12 title for six consecutive seasons. I would love to see our 'Horns end that streak this year. But KU was playing so well, it seemed the only way Texas could do that was to go unbeaten.

Very much good news/bad news.

I like the extra breathing room for Texas in the conference race.

However, I'm now officially nervous as hell about playing K-State.

Guess we'll just sit back and enjoy the #1 ranking while it lasts...

I'm most concerned about going to Lincoln. NU hates us, and this is their last shot at us in a major sport for a long while. They'd LOVE to derail our redemption season. And they're good at home.

Texas is due for a bad game or 2 like KU and everyone else is having, hope it happens before the tournament.

I think everyone has to remember that KSU is also coming off of a huge heartbreak where one-tenth of a second would have been the difference between winning and losing. Then they had to get back to Manhattan at 3 a.m., and had one practice to prepare for KU. They were firing on all cylinders on Monday out of frustration and Pullen's awe-inspiring 3's and FT's.

I know they'll be motivated to play Texas, but I can't see them putting together a game like they had against KU. The Jayhawks hurt themselves just as much as KSU beat them, and we haven't had a game like that outside of the USC game on the road.

The last two Big XII titles Texas has won were shared with KU (even though texas beat KU both those years and was top seed in Big XII tourny); am happy about last night as it gives better shot at winning conference solo.
