KU Game 1

Typical game to date. Through half of three the Horns have one hit. Ruffin pitching well as always. One hit and one walk given up so far. Looks like it's going to be one of those games we are so used to seeing the past two weeks.

Wow. Chance gives up two hits, walks two, Belt errors, another hit. 4-0 KU no outs. Bottom of 3. I'm not watching this anymore. Get it together or were going down fast this season.
 
And Kevin Keyes isn't starting WHY????? We have no other offense.

We have now lost FOUR of our last SEVEN. That is NOT GOOD.

Give me any reasons why or proof that this team is any better than the last two.

We look like a middle of the road Big XII team to me, nothing special, nothing to see here.

Show me signs that we aren't terrible offense. Defense- don't make errors. Pitching, well just keep doing your thing (which is normally great).

Rant over. Let's get them tomorrow and Saturday Horns!
 
Augie's team finds themselves 3-4 in its last 7. No real surprise to me. Sadly, I believe this is the norm under his watch.
 
I don't know y'all. I just don't think were very good. Honestly, take away our warmups against northern teams and Texas State and Arlington, and a bad Stanford team, what have we done?

Our offense is absolutely terrible. Defense screws up when it shouldn't. Whatever. This is kind of like our basketball team. Start high with high hopes only to come back down to reality.
 
Early schedule pretty weak but it is a long season and the Big 12 is tough, hopefully Horns finish in top 4 in Conference.
 
I have to agree with lost about Kevin Keyes. The guy not only has pop, but has been somewhat better with situational hitting - at least on bunting.

And I sure don't get why we are so anxious to pinch run for the guy. He is not exactly a base clogger.
 
LostinOhio - You are one of my favorite posters, bro. But take it easy, relax, try to find an online pharmacy and order you some Ritalin. We are going to be OK, trust me and Augie.
 
I'm not saying anything negative, but I will say it is a crime not to have Keyes in the lineup. Someone needs to check Augie's mental state if he is not letting Keyes play all nine innings from now on.
 
As was posted above, Keyes started in RF and played basically the whole game . He was hit by a pitch in the 9th and lifted for a pinch runner at 1B.
Our "usual" lineup started and played.....Rowe in CF, Hernandez at SS,etc etc
 
Sua: I realize that KK started today. I hope that he will continue to start as long as he plays well. He did get a HR today if I'm not mistaken.
 
I'm sorry that I overreact a little bit to these situations but that kind of crap just kills me. We started so hot and now we are just playing so poorly.

I do hope that we can win today and tomorrow and salvage this series.

I would agree that I need some Ritalin though, torre.
 
Realistically, there is no way that this team should have been ranked so high. A Great W/L record against a bunch of teams that suck does not make one a power. We have not seen this team tested before this week and it is not looking pretty. As an aside, deserving or not, one player is not going to change much.
 
I'm tired of the "We're not that good" excuse we've heard all year with the basketball team. People need to just buck up and call a team out when they are not playing as well as they are capable and that's what is happening with baseball right now. Still too many errors and poor execution. We've got the pitching.... the hitting will come, but we have to field the ball.
 
might be a tough league, but kansas is s'pose to be the same level as colorado and iowa state.
