KSU-Xavier

It's refreshing watching these teams who can play serious D. Kelly gets uber-packed, then comes down and swats one into the 2nd row.

KSU generally is annoying, and I think Martin is a bit over the top. But they are an enjoyable team to watch. They get after it on D and Clemente is studly.

Way to go, Mr. Senior who averages 8 minutes a game. Foul the three point shooter who is horribly out of balance to let Xavier hit 3 free throws to tie it.

that foul would never have happened if the official had his eyes open when Clemente grabbed him. It's a shame to have an obvious missed call taint a great game.

Clemente, Pullen, and Kelly are the only players for KSU who will have more minutes than any of Butler's starters today. The first two will need legs for jump shooting, of course.

One of the things I've developed following college ball... when I pull for a team (as I did for K-state) I hate the other team jacking up 3's... and not being challenged...even nailing them from huge distances...

Is it the tactic on three's to just play the odds? Why don't teams guard against three's better? Is that even possible?

Good effort on K-State to hang tough to the end of a draining game. Now... Go Bears!!!

This was one of the best tourney games I've seen. I was really impressed wtih Kstate's inside and outside games. I actually thought Xavier might win, but then the basketball gods made it all good by just allowing the three free throws to make it a better game, instead of a win for the musketeers.

Also, I don't think the basketball gods like the flop. Len Elmore had a great point on that I think. If it's not a foul on the O, and it gives the D an advantage, it has to be a foul on the D. It looked to me as if the O player was kind of tripped by the D player sitting on the floor.

And, one other thing, I think both teams broke some kind of rule. I didn't think it was legal to make more than two foul shots in a row.

The other funny thing is, after the game I'm watching ESPN and Digger gives Kstate a hard time because they missed 10 FTs.
Man we would practically die to have all of those made free throws in the last 20 minutes of the game, I don't care how many you miss, it's when you miss that makes a difference.
