Kolache Recipe

Just ran across a thread about the Czech Stop and noticed how many people are suffering through what I went through...the loss of kolaches when you move away from Texas.

My cravings got so bad that I had to find a cure...and I did.

While time consuming, these are well worth the time...and damn close to what you can get in West, TX.

I recommend adding a little more sugar than the recipe calls for, if you're going with a meat & cheese type kolache. Also, put the aforementioned meat & cheese in after the second rising where the author puts in the sweet filling.

Wasnt really looking for the recipe but that site is really great. never seen it before but have spent the last 30 minutes reading the recipes.

I've never really looked much further than the kolaches, although I think my wife might have found a few she liked. Generally I don't do any cooking that isn't on a grill but the kolache cravings were to strong to ignore.
