Kobe checking Lebron last night

and Lebron checking Kobe some (but not as much) was fun.

Those guys were really going at each other on both ends of the floor. Lebron got banged around a lot and had a relatively poor shooting night, but it was fun to see them check each other as opposed to say T-Mac and Kobe where T-Mac is never on him and they move a three over to play Kobe.

I always like it when top offensive threats get assigned to guard each other and do a decent job at it. The best parts of the Spurs-Lakers playoff series were usually when Tim Duncan and Shaq would actually guard one another. For being the quicker guy, Tim used his strength well to slow down Shaq, and for being the stronger guy, Shaq used his quickness well to slow down Duncan.

Always annoys me how most stars don't guard each other much, although I understand why coaches do this.

Yeh Kobe is their best defender so not unusualy to see him guarding Lebron. Kobe with 12 assists shows you the growth he has made as a player. He really has a team around him now and is willing to share the rock and get his team the win. He is making the growth that Jordan made later in his career.

Lakers play SA on Sunday in LA. At Boston on 2/5 and at Cleveland on 2/8. After that stretch I think we will have a better idea of where LA is right now.

Well the Lakers went and beat SA and then won at Boston and Cleveland. Even though Bynum is out right now, we do have a better idea of where LA is right now after beating the best in the NBA.
