Knight and Musberger

Pretty funny what Knight had to say about Tech (coached by son Pat), now that the Raiders have won 3 in a row: "I've unloaded the gun."

One thing is for sure, there is a love fest between them when they do a game. Which really doesn't bother me at all. They seem to have a great time working together and don't get into a tedious competition with one another like some announcers do.

I was at the game tonight, and right after shaking the other team's hands, the next thing Rick did was go over and shake Bobby's hand and talk to him for a few seconds.

other than his bewilderingly effusive praise of rick perry, Knight has been really good on our broadcasts.

after the dunk that went down and then out, he actually said "I don't know what the rule is on that...", which was nice to hear. Most broadcasters would have sat there in silence until somebody got in their ear about what the call was...

A few years ago, when BK was coaching Tceh, he set the record for career coaching wins .

Some days earlier, IIRC it was BK's birthday and Barnes sent him a gift --- a deer rifle.

BK responded with sending Barnes his (BK's) hand-written coaching card he prepares for each game --- of the game that he set the coaching record with.

I assume it's framed and hanging on the wall in Rick's office.

On a related note to this thread, did you see/hear the ESPN mother ship guys at half?

Hubie was very, very enthusiastic about the Horns, saying: "This was the best half of basketball I've seen all year, on both ends of the court --- I'm talking about Texas."

Digger chimed in with "I don't see them losing in tournament with this level of play --- I wouldn't want to have to face them ---- I just don't see anyone beating them."

Something like that.

And then they dug back at Reece Davis regarding his pre-game note that "A&M will show up" or something like that.

I don't think Reece meant it as such, I think he was just being kind to an upcoming home TV crowd, but it was funny that Hubie and Digger were solid Texas supporters and Reece seemed to play "bad cop."

Not to take away from our Horns at all because they're doing a damn fine job on the court.

However, I do have to wonder how much of this comes "from above". Given our new deal with ESPN they're definitely wanting to pimp their new product and I don't blame them. I'll just sit back and bask in its warm glow.

Not 10 seconds later Musberger says "Littlefield is having a hard time with Hamilton's D." Glad I'm not the only one with a maturity level of a 7th grader on here....

Listening to these two clowns tonight make me miss BrettNBobby. It would be painful listening to this if they weren't numbing me
