That seems to be the new starting pitching rotation.
Thornhill is being moved to the pen.

Knebel is suppose to get his first start tomorrow in
the first game of the doubleheader against TSU.

I guess they thought they needed an arm in Thornhill in the bullpen that could give you some innings and possibly close too as Knebel did.

That leaves Milner in the pen to keep doing
what he does. Dicharry will get more innings
also as well as Bellow I guess.

Wildcards would be Justin Peters and Trevor Teykl.

One or more of Dicharry,Bellow, J, Peters, or
Teykl need to step up give us some good
innings or it will a short post season for Texas.

Unless we are getting the starters to go deep
in each game and just use Milner and Thornhill.

We are going to need a 4th starter in the Big 12 Tournament with it's double elimination format
if we stick around very long.

If we don't finish strong against Baylor and in
the Big 12 Tourney we are going to be a #3
seed somewhere; hopefully Rice, but most
likely far from home or maybe LSU.

It was going to be tough even if we hadn't lost
French and Jacquez. Now it seems almost
impossible that is unless as I said before
one of those pitchers steps up in a big way.
At least Stell is suppose to be back for the
regional.

Dont write this team off just yet, they have faced more adversity than any Augie managed team since the late 90's and still could make the tourny. Might have a few surprises still left in store.

Yeah, the Big 12 brought back the double elimination tournament last year. We played 5 games in 4 days and didn't even make it to the conference championship game!

Not that it really hurt us last year, but it does leave very little incentive for a team that has had a good season to really try to win the tournament, because of how much wear and tear it takes on the pitching staff, especially if you lose a game. You are generally better off if you just win a couple games and then "bow" out of the conference tournament gracefully to save your pitching for the regionals.

I believe the Big 12 did the round robin format from 2006 - 2010.
