What do you guys think regarding size and brand?

Is 48" wortht the extra $$ over a 36"? I am active in the kitchen but I wonder if a 48" viking (for example) is worth the extra cash.

Got a 30" Bluestar RNB, and it's pretty sweet. Once I found this brand, all the others just didn't cut it.

If you are a "more power" kind of guy, this is the range for you. Super powerful burners. And you can remove one to put a wok right on the flames (stir-fry in 60 seconds). Looks great. No computer electronics to fail and piss you off later (why would you put a motherboard in a freaking stove?

). Easy to clean and change out parts if you ever had to.

I don't see a need for a larger cooking top. I like cooking, but four burners is plenty for me. I could better use the extra counter space instead. I wouldn't mind a second oven though.

48" is a big residential stove. Is it worth losing that extra 12" of counter space everyday for the ability to fit an extra pot or 2 once or twice a year?

Those big commercial ranges require extra ventilation beyond a standard vent hood and "make up" air for what those hoods suck out of the house.
