Kirk Watson was just on MSNBC as a state official supporting the Obama campaign in Texas. Chris Matthews nailed him by asking him to list Obama's legislative accomplishments in the US Senate. Watson was taken by surprise that he was not allowed to just run down whatever talking points he had prepared.
After a pregnant pause, Watson admitted he could not list any legislative accomplishments for Obama. He then started into a spiel about how inspirational Obama was and how he could lead the country. Matthews gave Watson a second chance to list any Obama legislative accomplishments and Watson again admitted that he could not do so.
At the conclusion of the segment, Matthews made the comment that anybody going on national television to promote a candidate should at least be able to discuss what the candidate had actually accomplished.
