Kings of Leon on ACL

Don't know if it's been posted before but I was just flipping and saw these guys on ACL. Heard of them but haven't listen to them yet and was thinking of buying a cd. Not now.

As I'm watching, I start to notice what looks like some kind of art/writing on the drummer's big drum on the floor and it says "Kool". Only problem is the two o's are the OU symbol that he had taped on in masking tape. Cute. Guess I won't be buying that cd, I don't parton asshats. OU sucks.

I've got this DVR'ed at home. I skipped their performance and watched a little bit of Roky last night. It was pretty sweet to see Billy Gibbons up there with Roky. But it was also kind of sad to hear Roky singing You're Gonna Miss Me and know what he used to sound like. I am going to try and watch the whole thing tonight.

The OU thing doesn't really bother me. A couple of the guys in the band were born in Oklahoma and I am guessing that they recorded the show a couple of weeks before the OU game (around the time of ACL fest). They're decent band, and I've seen them play three times (twice at ACL and once at Coachella). But I was far from ever buying their CD in the first place.

You're missing out if you don't have their cd's. Solid all the way through on their last 2 and Holy Roller Novacaine is good too.

I also couldn't care less what was on the drummer's kit. The drummer is a badass, and the band as a whole is as well.

Kings of Leon is one of the best bands around these days. Period. From putting out three very solid albums while evolving their sound, to being one of the best live acts on stage today, you can't convince me otherwise.

count me in as not giving two shits if they're OU fans or not. All around badass band that put on a pretty good performance on ACL. Their live set at Stubbs last year was outstanding (despite being a little short).

Because of the Times is greatness and imo their best album to date. Who cares if they are Oklahoma...go buy this CD.
