I hate the dumb shits at TV networks. "11 is the prime time game" - sure, if you live in one of those hell hole dumps on the east coast. Doesn't do **** for our West Coast recruiting & forces me to leave Houston around 630
 
Probably better for Maalik to have the game early vs a night game. At least that is what I am telling myself at 7 am Saturday.

Leave Friday afternoon for New Braunfels for opening of wurstfest. Stay the night in San Marcos.

It would be interesting for someone to do analysis of our record in early starting games. I actually don’t think it’s that bad. It might be skewed by the RRR, which seems often to start at 11 AM.
 
So here's my take on the Great Kickoff Hierarchy:

(all times are Central time zone)
  • 2:30 p.m. (or 3 p.m. on Fox): THE HOLY GRAIL
  • 6:00 or 6:30 or 7 p.m.: almost as good as The Holy Grail
  • 11:00 a.m.: It sucks. And all the program managers at all the networks are ratfinks.
  • Prime time on Thursday night: If you're wondering why your team was scheduled for this time slot, consider it an answer to the age-old question of "Is my team totally irrelevant?" (e.g., Tceh and TCU)
  • Prime time on Friday night: probably worse than playing on Thursday night, inasmuch as many people will be out watching the local high school team.
 
Sucks is all I say, except double sucks when I see the night game is K vs ISU. Makes me feel like Rodney Dangerfield. And yesterdays game was another hot one. Probably to the detriment of BYU I’d wager.
