I haven't kicked bohls around for a few days so here are a few thoughts about the pro season. The cowboys beat the giants twice and then lost a close game to them after a week layoff. Bohls did a post mortem and dumped all over Wade Phillips. He talked about who was to blame for this shameful showing. I thought at the time that the giants were coming on and played good defense. They had recently played the purported greatest team in history real close.

Bohls dumped on Wade. Somebody had to be blamed, right?

Then the Giants knock off some more good teams away from home and go into the super bowl game against the world's greatest team. Bohls says Patriots are great, etc.

Giants play good defense and eke out a narrow win---just like they did against the cowboys one time out of three.

My point is that bohls is pretty thin soup when it comes to evaluating how football teams are playing.

I thought the pats might win but I had noticed that they had not looked as good late in the season as they had earlier. Some other people also noticed it. Some noticed that the giants were playing better late in the season.

All Bohls talked about was how the cowboys stunk up the joint and how it was Phillips' fault.

I feel better now having got Bohls off my mind. Flush.

Yes, yes he was.

He is so astute at stating the obvious. I'm pretty sure it's in the Coaches Handbook to recruit the best players you can. Get the ones you need and try to "cherry pick" the "foreigners" when you can.

Geez

The Bohl's piece today came out on the morning of the day after signing day. How complimentary to the University and the football program. How very thoughtful.

Above the fold, the staff featured the new Longhorns, pointing to the talent and character of the new men on board and with a look to the future. Thank you all for that. Coffee good, breakfast good.

Below the fold, Kirk whined on and on showing if ever The Enterprise needed to get rid of the old Kirk and hire a new Kirk to solve a mystery in some corner of the universe and save the day, well then he's the guy.

After all, on any day, Kirk B. has the crystal ball that no one else has, and Lordy where would we all be without him to point out the things none of us ever in hell thought to think about?!

Can anybody put up the bucks to steal someone from Around The Horn to move to Austin and become a Statesman columnist?

I'd like to thank Garret Gilbert for making today a great day for Longhorn Country. Here's the link to the video of his announcement for those who haven't tracked it down. The Link

Have no idea why Kirk wants to chase around the country when you got guys right here who are appreciative, who don't have to be courted ad-infintum, and who know in their heart what they are doing l-o-n-g before signing day. Long before.

Hook'em Garret!!!
