Kicked ball

Can you guys tell me what you think the "kicked ball" rule is? I have a lot of basketball experiene, and I try to explain the rule whenever it occurs during pick-up games, but everyone thinks they know the rule. What do you guys think? Does anyone have a link to the rule book?

The rule is that you assume it's incidental contact unless Bruce Bowen did it.

Edit: Oh, you said "kicked ball," not "kicked balls." My bad.

The Rules.
The Link

The distinction is made between intentionally and accidentally striking the ball with the leg or foot.

In a pick up game?! I am pretty sure I have never seen a "kicked ball" called in a pick-up game.

In pick-up the team that didn't kick the ball just takes it from half court, I don't know the technicalities of real basketball.

I have seen a player from team B attempt to save a ball by smashing it against player1 of team A. The ball bounce off the team A player1's foot then into the team B player's chest then straight into player2 of team A right under the basket for an easy basket.

bierce is right on the money. Good job buddy.

They changed the "intentional/unintentional" rule in both high school and college a few years back. (I think around 2002/2003).

Also, for college--kicked ball with 14 or less on the shot clock, the shot clock resets to 15.
