Kick Aggy A$$ Mack

Didn’t know Mack was missing his running backs. That sucks. Still pulling for him. I know he burned the house down here when he left, but I would have been pissed too if I was losing my dream job.

Anyway, good luck Mack.

UNC going into game with one hand tied behind their back, aggy was already big favorite and now hard to see how heels hang with them with so many players out.

I swear. College football is a joke. Opt out is BS. This has to stop. More of the damn me first culture. Bunch of prima donna losers.

You know I really don't blame them. Playoffs have essentially made the bowls irrelevant. Almost every year somebody blows their knee in a bowl. If you think you can play in the pros, the risk/reward is just too high. Jaylon Smith went from a top 15 pick to late 2nd round. That's a lot of money. Most of these better players view college as semi-pros. But between the best teams stockpiling talent, the meto attitude, and stupid bowls, late December is irrelevant. I used to love NY Day. Sit back and watch 5-6 football games, eat all my moms food, and just chill. Now my waist line can't survive eating like that, and the games are spread over too many days.

Bowls not involving the top 2 to 4 teams are no more irrelevant now than they were in the past. It's from culture, not from rules.

Heck, in the 50s and 60s the bowls were played after the Championship was already awarded.

Under the format I presented on a different thread it would prevent bowl game apathy and slow down the opting out.
Have a 30 team playoff with two brackets.
Top bracket would have 14 teams and two byes. The bottom bracket would have 16 teams. So there would be a champion in the top bracket and a champion in the bottom bracket.
This would bring all kinds of excitement to college football. Lesser power 5 teams can win a championship. Such as texas tech, or tulsa, or UCF, or Cincinnati, or Michigan State. No team would play more than 4 games in the playoffs and then only two will play that many.
In the top bracket those would be the better teams, 14, with two byes for the top two teams. That way a team that is hot at the end of the season but yet wouldn't be in the top four would have an opportunity to win it all.

It's just getting old with the same ole teams who are always getting the top recruits are the ones playing in the four team playoff.

Eliminate one regular season game and the conference championship game and no team will play more than 15 games for the whole season and then only two. It's doable.

I agree it is a risk but there used to be school pride, playing for your team, and living up to your scholarship.
Another option would be making the scholarship option for the last season of eligibility. If you agree to play in all games you get the scholarship; if not you get a 50% scholarship. This will never happen because everyone would figure out how to go around the rules.

Somehow the "system" needs to teach these young athletes the value of a commitment. That alone will be the best lesson learned over the 4/5 years.

Those players really screwed Mack and the program. The game tonight is important to what he is building, and a win would be significant. Those selfish players threw the NC program under the bus for their own selfish reasons. Pretty disgusting.

I agree Duke. Mack has them back to a place they have not really been since he left. This was important to the school. I personally have had with this me too crap. I quit watching the NFL because of the prima donnas. College football was different to me but now instead of mulit-millionaire cry babies we get a bunch of selfish brats who no loyalty to anything or anyone. It speaks to much bigger problems in our world.

Some HC needs to find the courage to say something. Probably no one will.

This situation will persist as long as college football functions (unofficially, of course) as the minor league/farm club for the NFL. Count on it.

Mack had them ready to play. Missing so many players and they are still putting up a good game.

Not sure Sark will be better than Mack.

Last couple of drives were disaster. That dropped ball really hurt them. Would have been interesting to see the full NC team play

Would have been a totally different (and better) UNC team had their players not opted out. Those RB’s would have made a huge difference.

Was really worried about this game. Brown has always been able to get his teams ready to play in bowl games. Game pretty much stuck the the script. Was very similar to our game vs. Auburn. We were inconsistent on offense and the back end of our D is our weakness. Front four was dominant but their QB is really elusive.

We have been really good in the 4th quarter this year and that proved true again. Looking forward to a non-COVID season next year.
