Khaleann and Audrey-Ann

I have scanned back through the 2016 Recruiting thread and there is very little information on these two players. I believe one is red-shirting at Texas this year and Audrey-Ann is attending JUCO in Florida and will be at Texas this fall for the 2016-17 season. I have not seen any real informative information on either. They both were freshman at Vanderbuilt and transferred out after freshman year. I read where ......."the players can play inside, handle the ball and shoot the 3 ball." However, I have not heard of anybody that has actually seen them play in person or on video. Is there video out there or has someone actually seen them play? I am reluctant to put too much stock in players that no one has actually put an eye on. One example I can think of was Aborawa where we didn't really have any eyewitness to her play and a lot of folks on this board felt that she would be a huge contributor this year. She still may be a player but it will be as a jr or sr if at all. So that we don't get distracted thinking that the twins will be huge contributors...........someone step up and say they have seen them play ....... or best of all........provide a link or other video.

One of our season ticket neighbors has the time to attend the women's basketball practices. She said that Kahleann (she likes to be called Khale) practices hard on the men's practice squad (that they recruit to play against the women's team). Our neighbor said she's tough and it will be interesting when she gets to play next year.

This same neighbor said that they went to the potluck dinner at the beginning of the year and Khale sat at their table. She said (which I was shocked to hear publicly) that her sister was at JUCO to bring her grades up so she could qualify to transfer in next year.

We're going to need some tall, fast players next year to spell Kelsey so she doesn't have to shoulder the load.

(Oh yeah, remember these two committed to Texas as sophmores to Goestenkors but backed off when Gail resigned)

Both will be very important to Texas' frontcourt depth next season. Someone has to spell Kelsey when she's not on the floor and guard the opposition's post player. Lots of big Centers in the Big 12 returning (K-State, OSU, OU, Baylor) so we have to match up with them somehow, or create mismatches. Even though we've read that they aren't back-to-the-basket post players, they might need to mix it up based our lack of proven post players. Or, perhaps we will use them like Iowa State uses their post players where they spend a lot of time outside the 3-point line.

Correct me if I'm wrong but, unless the coaching staff is recruiting someone completely off this board's radar, the tallest players on the roster in 2017-2018 will be 6' 3" - Goudreaus, Holmes, Aborowa. Am I missing anyone (not sure about Sara's eligibility)?

Unless you mean the 2017-18 season, Kelsey will be on the roster at 6'5". Other than that, you are correct.

We've been going with "undersized" power forwards this season (Brianna, Jordan, Ariel), so I guess Sara has been coming in as the third Center behind Imani an Kelsey; and, Aborowa as the fourth Center off the bench.

Sara could be graduating this Spring and perhaps moving on from basketball. Or, if she returns next season, backs up Kelsey.

Even with Kelsey back next season, I think Texas is going to have to adapt it's offense to a more flexible, free flowing variety that isn't mainly inside-out. We'll have one authentic good center and a half dozen big mobile talented forwards who, hopefully, can shoot the ball. If our personnel can play it, something closer to Notre Dame's system.

Kelsey will be our #1 next year, but we will get a lot from the Canadian Twins...and YES, Sara will be back if she gets in to Grad School...I think Mide is coming along, too!!
We will be ok, and think FAST...and we may get a surprise BIG...BIG maybe on BIG....

At one point, I recall seeing Texas mentioned regarding upcoming ND grad transfer, Taya Reimer. Just don't recall when and where I saw/read it.
