Kennedy for Obama - A Big Deal

Because of the state of the economy and GWB's low approval rating the Republican's chances hinge on trouble with the D nominee or D voters. As I see it the best chance comes from a split in the D constituency with a large portion getting pissed at the nominee. This scenario is usually just theoretical but is now a very real possibility because of the race baiting by Bill clinton. I don't see Hillary going down without getting ugly and I don't see Hillary winning without a major chunk of her potential supporters staying home. I also think a mudfight will move a chunk of voters to the R side.

I think you are overestimating Hillary's support. She doesn't have much dedicated support. Her most dedicated supports are those who are most pissed at GWB. You really think they will stay home and not vote for the democratic candidate. They will vote for a stick, if it is the democratic candidate.

I think he was saying it helps the republicans because drunken uncle teddy is a negative addition to anyone's campaign.

Kennedy is a big asset to Obama's campaign. Hillary was on the verge of locking this thing up. She still might. But Kennedy's support does two things. The first is that it gives Obama a chance at closing the big leads Hillary has in the Feb 5 states. The second, and the one that intrigues me, is that Teddy and Bill could get into a long schlong contest where each, desiring to be the alpha male, and pissed off at the other, says things they shouldn't.

Still pure comedy that the W crowd is that up on the hatred of Clinton that they are jazzed by a Kennedy.

keep it up guys, funny stuff.

I don't think Mr. Wizard is an expert in the hierarchy of Republican Hatred.

It's a complex subject but there are some basic axioms.

Hillary's negatives are already as high as they're going to get. Everyone formed their opinion about her back in 1993 and it hasn't changed. Billions of dollars might be spent in this campaign and one thing that won't change is Hillary's approval numbers.

The Republican's biggest weakness will be their overestimation of the hatred of Hillary and Obama's weakness.

Seriously, all either of them has to do is win every state Kerry won (very likely) and win Ohio or a collection of smaller states like Missouri, West Virginia, and Iowa.

Currently, the R's are getting trounced in Ohio and the incumbent Republican governor of Missouri has decided not to run because he'd lose.

Instead of assuming Hillary or Obama would get their asses kicked, maybe the R's should start explaining exactly how one of those Republican candidates would win.

I'm dying to hear that....
