I was at the Heath/HP game last night and Lawrence is a stud. He made HPs defense look silly.
I was wondering who he has offers from as well. One of the guys I went to the game w/ played football at Arizona and said they're going after him pretty hard but didn't know much else.
He had a sick game against Sherman early in the year. Either HP's run defense sucks or he is one of the best RB's in the state. Oh, and wtf kind of hat was that coach wearing?
2nd team all-state last year; 2,000 yards this year; last night's game looked just about the same as all his others. His school is only in its third year of varsity play, and he is about 90% of the reason they went 10-0. I haven't heard of him having any academic or personality issues. Perhaps size is delaying some of the more serious offers (although I think his offer list includes Kansas and Mizzou). Dude can play some football, and has the "winner" factor. Granted, it is high school, but when it is time to decide who is going to win and who is going to lose, you want to have the ball in his hands. Everybody knew who was going to get the ball in OT, but it didn't matter. Did the same thing in an OT game a few weeks ago.
According to Rivals ha added a Mizzou offer this week. I also saw somewhere that he was supposed to be at the Tech-OSU game. UCLA is supposedly showing interest too.
That makes some sense; I think I saw something about a 4-star switching to Tech a few days ago. I don't pretend to know anything about how these guys are evaluated, but I have seen five or six Heath games this year and it sure looks to me like this guy can play.
I know Kendial personally. My sons have been in school with him for years. He is a AWESOME kid. He stays out of trouble, he's a good student as well as a great athlete. He is very much a "TEAM" player. He'll even block for our other amazing RB, Everette Gilbert. Everytime....and I mean literally everytime the offense comes off the field Kendial goes to each of his team mates pats them on the shoulder, encourages them and thanks them for doing what they do. That is not a very common sight to see, especially in an athlete as good as Kendial is. In addition, he is a good student. He makes good grades and he's very very polite. The funniest thing to me is that if you were ever at RHHS Kendial is not a kid that would stand out. He is really pretty quiet and he walks slow as molassas on a cold day. As you can tell, I really love this kid and the reason that I do has much more to do with his character off the field and on the sidelines than it does with his talent and abilty on the field. He has all of Rockwall/heath cheering him on and wishing only the best for him. I honestly don't know of one single person that would say anything different about him. (He was our homecoming king) He will be a huge asset to any team and all of us here in Rockwall/Heath will be forever cheering him on.
Go HAWKS! District Champs baby....State Champs here we come.
