Kendall Sanders

He was just on a local sports talk show (tyler/longview) and his answer to the question of the rumors about him looking at UT was interesting. He didn't exactly deny that they weren't true. The tone in his voice made me think we actually have a shot at him.

Y'all should be able to hear the podcast on it later this evening

If anyone knows why this kid has not been offered, I would love to be so informed. His commitment to OSU is as soft as they come, and the DB vs. WR debate can be resovled once he's on campus. Bottom line is that the kid's a player. Offer him Mack.

I will venture a guess and only a guess as to why Sanders has not been offered. He wants to play WR and we already have the two top WR prospects in Texas already committed and hope to land Dorial Green-Beckham, 5 Star WR out of Missouri. UT wants Sanders at DB and so far he has been unwilling to commit to DB. Probably Wyatt would love to have Sanders at WR. But Akina will be held accountable (as McWhorter was) for the recruiting and play of his group so I bet Akina will not agree to use one of his DB slots for a guy who states he only wants to be a WR and would potentially be the 4th WR in the class. And nobody is probably willing to back off the possibility of Green-Beckham, who might be the best football player in the country. Akina needs at least one more CB/DB if not two in this class and UT has already offered a slew of highly rated OOS prospects who are guys who you can't pass up if they want to come, so scholarships are very tight until those OOS guys start declaring one way or the other. All of that is pure speculation, especially the part about it being Akina's call. That's just the way I'd see it if I were Akina.
