"Afghanistan wants NATO to put on public trial those who burned copies of the Quran at a NATO base, President Hamid Karzai's office said Thursday, after a third day of bloody protests over the incident.

It said NATO had agreed to a trial, but that could not be immediately confirmed.

Redeployment of US personnel to California and North Carolina would defnitely make it harder for corrupt folks in Afghanistan to stay in power, stay rich and stay alive. Can't say I'm too worried about them.
 
I thought it was time to cut bait in Afghanistan long before this incident. There's just no point in spending hundreds of billions of American taxpayer dollars to fight a bunch of Koran-waving, AK47-wielding yahoos who are willing to individually (or corporately) die fighting whatever entities they perceive to be dissing them.

Regardless of the arguments for or against Obamacare, we could have already paid for it with the money (roughly a trillion dollars) that's been spent/wasted fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan (and which is now part of our national debt).
 
I think President Obama should demand trials for anybody that hid Bin Laden or knew of his whereabouts while he was being hunted.
 
1. Who is the dumb f**k that allowed korans to end up in a dump heap?

2. Obama should not have apologized. It won't make a difference in the way the Afghan public reacts to this. It was meaningless jesture.

4. Time to come home. Anyone who would be in danger due to our departure can come with us. Karzai can stay there are burn.

isn't it amazingly coincidental that Afghans just happened at that moment to be strolling by a fire and just happened to be able to see into the fire and recognize korans..

The apology was just ******* stupid. ONE dumbass soldier screwed up. It's not like it was military policy. People do stupid **** all the time.

Someone should tell the Catholics to try the psycho approach with Obama. Maybe if they hit the streets and kill a few people, Obama will respect their religious beliefs like he does Islam.
