While I wasnt initially overly impressed with her hiring, I am certainly starting to warm up to the idea of her being our new HC. From talking to her I know what type of person she is, so that was never a concern of mine. I was just more so curious as to what type of results she could garner with the talent already in house, because I dont think I have the energy to go through another 5 years of the last. But she has instantly improved both of her last two stops, and she boasts the 4th best turn around margin in the country with the mean green last season. They were +11 IIRC. Also, I've been watching videos of her from UNT's WWB website, and I really like the way she handles the media. And I was most impressed with a video I saw where she was mic'd up for a practice, and she was very demanding which I enjoy, and she also clearly has the ability to teach and get maximum effort from her players.

In spite of the fact two laggard coaches have been ousted on Plonsky's watch - which I know I should give her credit for - this coaching search really was lame. Plonsky hardly seems like a playmaker.

HOWEVER

I have always been a fan of the Young and Hungry Hire. UT WBB is a program waiting for leader. Too many resources, $, LHN, fanbase.

Strangely optimistic about this hire.

No offense, but 48 isn't considered "young". She might be considered an "up and comer", but that means she doesn't have a lot of head coaching experience.

We're going to find out quickly what kind of effect she has on the program:

1) Can she keep 2012 signess, Imani Stafford and Empress Davenport, from asking for a release from their LOIs

2) Can she keep the four 2013 verball commitments (2 from Cedar Hill, TX and 2 from Canada) from decommitting and staying intent on signing with Texas in November; she probably has to recruit them all over again

Losing some of those players could be considered a step backwards. Still, any new coach would have the same above early "tests".

This is why keeping atleast 2 of the current assistants is PARAMOUNT. Especially Ron, since he seems to have recieved credit for signing Imani and our 2 Cedar Hill prospects. And to another point, in coaching now days 47 would be considered on the young side since good coaches seem to stay well into their 60's and 70's

that might be the Canadian twins coming in 2014 unless they decommit. There was speculation that they could be either 2013 or 2014 depending on how they were listed in the Canadian system.
