...at home and they win the Big 12!!!! Congrats to them and for showing Texas how it us done.

maybe we can get them in the tourney...oh wait, we have tried that and it has been a massive FAIL.

The way Texas is playing right now, winning ONE game in the tourney would be a surprise, much less winning the whole thing.

The current approach to basketball (both men's and women's) at Texas will not bring national championships to the 40 acres. Maybe not even conference championships. But I don't think national championships are the desire for the men's program. The women's program...........well, I haven't figured out what they have been trying to do for the last 10-15 years.

Didn't Barnes say he is more focused on putting players in the NBA, than winning championships? Maybe I just dreamed that.

I know he said to the efect that this is his job, not his main focus in life and none of the criticism bothers him, he just doesn't care about what people think. I understand that some, but I'd hope it's a little more consuming than a job. His 'job' holds alot people's future (players) and supporters' happiness in his hands. Sounds awfully like an 'awe-shucks' Tony Romo-esque response that makes me turned off to his attitude as the starting QB of my lifelong favorite pro football team. Very frustrating when you give so much emotion to a team you follow, and you hear its leader being so detached from its failures. Romo may be a good player, but he inspires me about as much as a doorknob. Which in turn I assume he inspires his teammates about the same in crunch time.

It is extremely apparent the way Romo attempts to rally his troops in the huddle, at the line, etc. It's a very passive demeanor through speech, body language, etc. Before, during, and after games if you observe him it is all the same passive behavior. I for one do think Romo is a good QB and has skills. Great? I don't think he has the intangibles as I just mentioned to achieve greatness. Guys like Favre, Brady, rivers, Brees, Manning, Aikman, etc have/had a strong conviction and passion in speech and body language with their teams on the field. Aikman may have seemed passive to the untrained eye, yet he was all over guys for mistakes. They said he demanded perfection as much as he could. And it's the same way with these other leaders I mentioned. If you watch Romo closely over a long period of time as I have...there is zero chance you could mistake his approach for resembling those type of players. Not many do reach their success, yet many are non-passive leaders. The QB is the general on the field. Even watching Kitna yell and get fired up in the 2nd half of the year was a wonderful change in emotion. Romo is good, yet passive as can be at a position one can't be passive and lead to the maximum level.

As for Kansas, I wouldn't go crowning them sole Big12 reg season champs just yet. They get Mizzou on the road last. Mizzou is undefeated at home in conference play. all wins by 8 or more points and many blowouts. They spanked KSU, Colorado, and Baylor at home by large margins. And had trouble with same teams on road. KU took it to them in Kansas...gonna be tough to do the same in Mizzou. On the year the Tigers have only one home loss. If Horns take care of Baylor they definitely have a shot at a share...and we would still own the tiebreaker over Jayhaws. Just saying.

TXThorn....wow...I would like some of whatever you are drinking!!!!!

Kansas plays at 11am.....will they lose? Probably not.

I wouldn't put it past TEXAS to lose to BU if MU beats KU. I probably would be more pi$$ed about that.

The big test for KU taking care of business will against Mizzu at Mizzu. If KU pulls out a win there my hat is truly off to them.

Mizzou...one home loss all year...to #16 Georgetown. Undefeated at home in conference play...no win by less than 8 points. Including a double-digit win over the KSU team that whipped KU. Do I think KU likely will win...probably, by a close margin. Is it very possible that they lose to this very dangerous rival on the road? Absolutely. No drinking kool-aid here, just how it is. I can tell you right now if you bet basketball long enough you'd understand KU is not a great bet in that game...more of 50/50. Will Texas beat Baylor on road? Maybe, maybe not. I'd say it's about 50/50 assuming rest will help us. We are capable, we will see. I doubt KU thought we would drop these games when we had a 2-game lead. No doubt they have a real fight on their hands.

Nice correction, thanks HNK, so Mizzou is undefeated and 16-0 at home this year in their house. While their road record is 2-7. Homecourt is huge for Mizzou this year. Go Tigers!!! (well for tomorrow anyway) lol

Kansas knocks off Mizzou in Columbia to win the Big 12 outright. That's what great programs do. They take care of business. OU continues to show us how to do it in Football and we have Kansas to show us in Basketball. Maybe one of these days our flagship programs will realize that conference championships matter.

It definitely happens now and then...NC champs not being conference champs. But yes, we need to right the ship tonight and get rolling to have a shot. Hats off to KU for handling their business. Glad I picked up some cash on it also. Unfortunately for my fan emotions, I also have some down on Baylor. Yet winning money is certainly not based on who you root for. We have a tough game tonight, and I'd gladly lose my bet for Texas to win. Yet Baylor is just a very tough place to play for us. And Baylor getting 4 was too juicy to pass.

BTW...if Pitt loses today (though up by 6 now) and Notre Dame wins their game, ND wins Big East and not #4 Pitt. Same with Duke, North Carolina beats them at home today, #4 Duke loses their conference. They are tied at #4 in AP. That would leave only 2 teams out of current top 7 teams in country winning their conference. Since BYU is tied with SD St. in conference, even though they own tiebreaker they share title. That would only leave Ohio St. and KU as outright conference champs.

kansas did not win the big 8 the year they beat ou the for the nc. nc st didn't come close to the acc crown when they beat phi slamma jamma.

Well Duke isn't conference champs. Great win, Horns! Purdue also goes down to lowly Iowa. More than any year lately the top 8 is in constant flux. The tourney is by no means a smooth ride for anyone this year. Let's stay hot in conference tourney and gain some steam for the big dance. See ya, Baylor! Enjoy the NIT.
