Kansas State

Yea this has been on going for a few weeks now. Not the way that the administration wanted to usher in the Mittie era im sure.

I fully expect the media pressure, and the threat of national scouts to make sure future recruits are well aware of this ridiculous policy to force a change sooner rather than later. I also forsee the NCAA leaning on Kstate as well, because as embattled as they are right now over unionizing, scholorships and pay for play issues I would imagine that this is a problem they dont need at this moment

Let her go! KSU is on the wrong side of this issue. The days of greed and archaic rules are numbered.

The K-State situation is toxic. And appears to be entirely of their own making. The transfers, loss of staff, etc, under Patterson was far more than just a red flag. The Big 12 WBB programs have some problems. Tech, just a decade ago was a glamour program, now they are one of the worst in D1. OU has slipped a long way from it's Final Four trips, Baylor will be good but never competitive at the national level; OSU and Texas are on the rise, but the addition of TCU has hurt everyone; and how in basketball's birthplace can the Rock Chalks continue to be so lousy? The Commisioner needs to step in and give KSU some "suggestions". This train wreck hurts each member institution.

Well to say that BU will never be competitive on a "national level" is a stretch. It doesnt seem that they're going to be "bad" for the forseeable future, and for some reason those kids play above their talent level in big time games. KU is one season removed from a sweet 16 apperance so I wouldnt say that they continue to be lousy. They seem to be like Texas in the way that they show "flashes" but are in the search for consistency. TCU isnt hurting the conference on the womens side, they have the pieces to make some real noise this year its just going to depend on how well and how soon they can gel with their new staff.

If you want to emphasize that student-athletes are students, then you should let them transfer like students.

K-State is looking very bad. If they are truly worried a former coach is using the player as leverage to get a job, then grant a conditional release whereby she can't play anywhere a former coach of KSU is employed. That eliminates what...5 schools at most? She has 345 to chose from.

Temp you're absolutely right. Most schools ban transfers to conference schools and direct rivals. She already said that she wouldnt oppose a conditional release saying that she would be subject to such bans also including where other KSU coaches are employed. To basically extort a kid the way they're doing is nothing short of criminal

The saga continues. It seems all of the previous KS women's coaching staff have been hired at Northern Colorado including Deb Patterson. Titles have changed but the people are the same. Also the KS player who is at the center of the controversy may be taking the JUCO route.

at this point, without being released by KSU, Leticia Romero really does not have a choice if she wants to continue her education in the US. Looks like Hutchinson (the rumored JC she is going to) may get a player that will help them make a run at the national title.

If' it's tampering KSU thinks took place, just deny a release to N. Colorado, where the previous KSU staff ended up, plus the rest of the Big 12 and any other schools on their schedule for the next 3-4 years, if they have scheduled that far in advance.

If Leticia goes the JC route, she can sign with any college after that one year. It will be interesting to see if she does go to N. Colorado. She could easily end up at a Big 12 school afterwards.

Finally. Kinda of late but she should have no trouble getting a ship if a school has one available.

Kinda strange they didn't put N. Colorado on the list she cannot transfer to. Excluding the Big 12 schools was pretty much a given.
