Kabongo Suspended for Season

Looks like they are saying Kabongo lied. My son got popped recently for a minor prank at school and I told him he has to fess up. The cover-up (i.e. the lie) is always worse it seems than the actual crime.

So UT has more money than God. Why wouldn't they sue the agent and that trainer just to get everyone's attention for ******* with our athletes? It doesn't mean that Kabongo's actions are to be excused. They are not but these agents are lying ******** and we all know it. Just go after them. Send the message.

The timing of this release is incredible. I'm with TJ Ford (court-side analyst for LHN), why do they released this news right at the end of the North Carolina game? Dodds needs to make a statement to the NCAA about that.

Dogberry x2. WTF! Timing feels weird. There must be an aggie behind this. I'm sitting here with jaw on floor in that our University was not contacted prior to ******* throwing it up in the ticker during a sweet moment in beating the **** out of Carolina! Just Wow!

I am so sick of hypocrisy and greed. We see coaches turning their backs on recruits whenever they want but they ruin a kid's year or more over peanuts. As far as I am concerned this level of hard-core governance is a form of mental illness. You may laugh at that but it is pathological and only a certain kind of sociopath is willing to be a party to it.

But, but, was the statement really officially released by the NCAA? It was put out there on ESPN as a Yahoo! Sports Report.

Hook'em!!!

If lying were that big a deal in this country then every ******* politician in Washington would lose their job. Every single one.
Total hipocracy.

Then again, let's not overlook the positive benefit to the team. It's very possible that the remaining members will rise to the occasion and 'show 'em' all. Last night's win is a great springboard. There's nothing that says Cinderella can't wear burnt orange.

For a guy that committed to UT so long ago, this has to be the most anti-climatic career ever. Shame on Kabongo for putting himself in this spot to begin with, and shame on him for making it worse by lying.

If there is a silver lining (or 2) to this situation, it is that we finally have closure and should have a solid team returning next year with all the guys that were forced to step up because of this. Surely none of these guys are going pro, right?

Hate to say I told Taps so...

Honestly, I didn't even think he'd get that big a suspension. Figured it would be a Balbay-type one where he did things he wasn't supposed to when it wasn't on his own dime. But lying about it?? Jesus. We need to stay the hell away from those Canadian "basketball-school-within-a-prep-school" recruits. Some guys have a natural career path and stay within the rules in order to achieve it. Others? Not so much. Bend every academic/honesty rule there is until it's somehow warped into something the NCAA shouldn't trust.

I blasted Dez Bryant at the time of his suspension for being a dumbass, so Kabongo isn't above that. These guys absolutely know the rules, and pretending like friendships and prior relationships and acquaintances all that other **** got in the way just doesn't ******* matter. You can't take swag (or anything remotely like swag) from anyone outside the program without pay. That includes ******* voice lessons for the church choir. If he had just said "yeah I went to work out and see the game with his agent and we paid him back later," he would have gotten away with the 10-game suspension. But having TT cover for him only made things worse.

The suspension has been appealed and a decision could be
made as soon as Friday according to Yahoo and other
sources.
