K-State's ballpark

I listened to the game last night, K-State announcers and all. Anyone who did the same - did you notice that their announcers sounded like they were sitting in the bleachers, right out amongst their fans? Comments being made in the background weren't what you would normally hear during the game from media folks. Just wondering if the have a press box? I realize they run a pretty low maintenance operation up there, but that was really peculiar.

I head the same broadcast and noticed the same. It is unusual to hear fans' complain about the umpire so clearly. It seemed the fans were sitting next to the announcers.

However, I thought the KState announcers did a great job. I was impressed with their facts about Texas, e.g. that Moldenhauer was batting over .600 against KState during his career. No unnecessary chatter, just factual reporting.

Yeah the comment about bringing in extra bleacher seats for the game. And the raving about crowd noise.

Craig and Keith mentioned on the Longhorn broadcast about the field lights being lower than usual. I'm glad the Horns have the night game behind them.

I didn't hear the comment about the lights (I had to listen to their announcers), but I do remember watching a football game on TVwhen they played the aggies and I swear, it looked like high school field lighting. Maybe they can't afford decent lighting in any of their stadiums.
