Just saw Springsteen

Monday night...Honda Center, Anaheim CA

I believe this is my eighth Springsteen show, starting with "The River" tour.

He really hasn't lost much off his fastball.

Opened with "Just around the corner (to the light of day). Encore was Born to Run and Rosalita.

Had some kid from "Rage against the machine" join him for Ghost of Tom Joad, Kid played the ******* **** out of the guitar. Amazing talent.

Bruce changed guitars much more than I remembered from the old days...not just the blonde tele anymore.

All in all amazing.

But...CC doesn't look well. not moving well at all...typical old running back. Not sure how many more shows he has left.

Nils sounded great.

Bruce seems to lean on Miami Steve more than he did in the old days.

No Patti...Bruce did a rap about her staying home to watch the teenage girls...keep the GGW bus away from the house, etc.

Beers were 7.50.

That is all for now.

I'm jealous. Sounds like an awesome setlist (Rosie, Trapped, Prove It All Night, GOTJ w/ Tom Morello). Early word is that it was one of the best shows of the entire tour.

I thought the Big Man either had or was having hip replacement surgery in the near future. He's 66 now & carrying way too much weight. Can't be too many tours left in his tank.

Has he been doing Trapped a lot? The few times I've seen him, he has never done that song. Also, is Morello playing with a lot or was this just a west coast thing?

Just saw the complete setlist. Sweet sassy molassey, what a show!

The Promised Land
Working on the Highway
The Ghost of Tom Joad (w/ Tom Morello)

* * *
Girls in Their Summer Clothes
Rosalita
Born to Run
Ramrod (w/ Bobby Bandiera)
American Land (w/ Marty Rifkin and Marc Anthony Thompson)

He's just started playing Trapped on this latest leg but has made it into 4 of the last 5 shows so it's looking like a regular now. Oh, apparently there's already video on youtube of last night's GOTJ w/ Morello (just a one-time guest appearance).

Holy Sh!t Ghost Of Tom Joad Version

For the second show in Anaheim, he opened with the full band version of Thunder Road.

Am I allowed to say that gives me a boner or will that get me banned?

I didn't go to the Dallas show, but I just read the review.

Bon Jovi is performing at the AAC tonight, but apparently they were in town yesterday and went to the concert.

Jon Bon Jovi joined Bruce on stage for "Glory Days." Just kind of appeared out of nowhere, according to the review. Couple of Jersey boys who made it big.

That would have been really cool to see.

Last night was my 13th Bruce show, and it was one of the best. He opened with "Tenth Avenue" and the energy just never stopped! "Trapped" got a huge response, and the tour premiere of "Independence Day" was "something special for Dallas."

Bon Jovi had a blast on "Glory Days"-- wouldn't you? Bruce brought up a big group of pre-teens to dance on you know what, and it turned into a free-for-all. After they finally got everybody off, Bruce brought one adorable little girl back up and she gave him a huge hug and waved to the crowd. It was a very cute moment.

The encore started with "Meeting Across the River," so you KNOW what was next. And they freaking NAILED it.

I wish I was on my way to Houston right now for tonight's show!

drove to dallas for the show yesterday. awesome. one of my top three or four and i have seen him more than 50 times.

back to houston tonight for the show at toyota center.

One of the best I've seen... Just a few song shorts of the whole damn Born To Run album (though the few missing included my two favorites Thunder Road and Backstreets).

Loved Independence Day.

Rosalita - are you kidding me!
Born to Run - ditto

** - how cool is this to get these guys on stage with Bruce to play their music to his fans.

He's not called the Boss for nothing. He's still got it, as does his band. If they're coming to your town, see them.
