Just Finished The Sopranos...

I had never watched an episode until I started on the Season 1 DVD about 4 or 5 months ago. Just finished the last episode. What can I say. Excellent series, maybe one of the best. Writing, casting, directing, and acting simply amazing.

My ONLY problem with the series was A.J. I don't like that kid and thought he was useless in the series other than presenting some of the problems that teenagers go through.

As far as the final episode, I knew what happened at the very end because who DIDNT hear about it but still wasn't expecting it when it happened. I like the way it ended...i think... I don't think they could have created an ending that made everyone happy. Maybe a movie down the road?

All in all, hats off to David Chase. Brilliant.

I loved the scene in (I think) the last season, when AJs being an *******, and Tony smashes the windshield of his car and them makes him drive it to work like that.

My wife and I are watching from the beginning. I have seen them all but she hasnt. We are starting Season 3 this week and from what I remember its a great one.

Also, I would add The Shield and end the discussion.

I have seen every episode of the Sopranos as well.

I think Season 1 & 2 are greatness. It was just ok after that. I thought his mom provided the best/most drama and conflict. When she died (in real life), the show took a big nose dive. I believe that was even after Season 3. But that said even if she was in Season 3, Seasons 1 & 2 are easily the best and it wasn't worth watching after that IMHO.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Season 2 of The Sopranos is as close to "art" as TV has ever gotten. An amazing achievement.

Watching all of them at once like that, didn't you feel the Russian mafia storyline just got dropped. I kept expecting him to wrap that up some way.

First 2 seasons were good. The rest always seemed like the actors took over the show and every one demanded some sort of major storyline.
