Can anyone tell me why Jungmann was pulled so early. Is that the norm for midweek starters?

It was a crazy game, especially the 9th inning.

They were pitching by committee tonight trying to get several pitchers in so nobody pitched more than an inning or two.

Using more pitchers today was good.

Using more pitchers was very good. One guy had probably more appearances than the rest of the bullpen combined.

I think if a pitcher is considered likely to pitch in the weekend conference series, it is rare they go more than three innings of work in a mid-week game. The game is considered more of a workout than a must-win contest (for starting pitchers, that is).
