he actually committed to Texas this past weekend. The visit today was to make it official per Mack Brown.

lsu rivals site claiming he did not commit. and lsu fans say there is more "great" news for them that is $ info

Sounds Great... but I'll get excited when I see it on a couple of the pay sites!!

Word outta LSU is he is still a Tiger. I hope this is incorrect. If true, might Darius White be the reason?

i don't have $ info and even if i did, i would restrain my enthusiasm. i will say that the visit itself is encouraging and we seem to have a legitimate shot at another big-time talent.

best wishes to Mike whatever he decides.

Bonedry--Thanks for passing along all of the information about Davis. I knew the same thing you knew but decided I probably couldn't deal with the hassle (if you know what I mean). But thanks again for doing it. I appreciate it.

yes, thanks, b0nedry, for passing the word along. it came at a very good time with the tiger droppings people intimating that something went awry and the deal was off.

i still scratch my head about that. coming on the heels of their outright announcement that mike would not visit us, i have to wonder what we don't know. i haven't followed lsu in some years, but i had the impression that mike scarborough was reasonably reliable. if something like that appeared on one of the sooner boards, i wouldn't give it a second thought, but this is a little different situation, i think.

glenn: you summed up my feelings precisely.

whatever the case, I'm thrilled with this recent, unexpected development. PLAY-MAKER!!!

Bone, Always the one with the inside info. Hope you are doing well my friend. Good to see you posting. --Drew

In that article it mentions Christian Scott hosted him. Interesting that a guy not eligible would still be such a good representative and everyone was confident in him.

Makes me think Scott has to still be in fold, and feel like he is part of the team. Maybe he will be available for the bowl, and if not I gotta think it looks good for next year.

I'm not sure why you might have thought Scott would not feel like he was part of the team. He was ruled ineligible because he had failed to satisfy the NCAA's Progress toward Degree Requirements. When his appeal was denied, it was reported he was otherwise academically eligible and could still practice with the team. I understood that is what he has been doing.

Assuming he corrected the deficiencies in the "Progress toward Degree" requirement he should be able to play in the BCS Championship game since the Fall semester is over. Collins could also play, but won't since he is using 2009/10 as his redshirt year.
