June surf?

I am going camping in June in the Corpus area. Looks like either Mustang Island State Park or Padre Island National Seashore. Should I bother to bring my board? If so, which of the two spots should I lobby for?

bob hall pier in corpus. its close to the PINS but the beach is much better than what you would find on PINS.

definitely bring it, we were there last year about this time and the surf was terrific.

I am always busy in June, so I never get to beach then, but things have changed. Also, we are going camping, so it looks like we will either be at PINS or Mustang State Park. Which one would give me better surf? (the 4WD restricted area at PINS is not an option)

Don't forget to swim laps at a gym or in your your pool in the weeks before you go. Having your arms and shoulders in shape can be the difference between catching waves and splashing water around while getting sunburned.

I've surfed before and am a competent swimmer, I just had not had the opportunity to surf that area in June, and was wondering if there would be waves at those locations

I have been down to Port Aransas a couple of times and have surfed the Caldwell pier area, but I hear Bob Hall is crowded in any decent surf. Would it be better to camp a mile or two down the beach from Bob Hall or on Mustang Island near the two little jetties?
