Jr. Day...Call your shot

I know that our recruiting philosophy has changed somewhat but i know most of the recruits in attendance will be offered. We all know it's not unusual to see a handful of recruits commit during or shortly after the weekend. So call your shots here, how many commits do you see us pulling from this Jr. Day? Who do you see committing?? How far will our recent recruiting momentum carry over??

I'll go ahead and make the call. i think we pull 5 but could pull as many as 9 before next Friday. I think it's obvious that all the ones listed will be offered but will they commit? This isn't in any order other than who i see pulling the trigger. Something tells me this will be a weekend glued to the boards once it starts to go down lol.

Kent Perkins - OT - grew up a Texas fan
Kyle Hicks - RB - grew up a Texas fan
Tyrone Swoopes - QB - heaaaavvvvvyyyyyy Texas lean
Naashon Hughes - ATH - Camrhon's brother
Jake Olliver - WR - heavy Texas lean
Durham Smythe - TE - stock rising, may wait to pull the trigger
Ricky Seals-Jones - ATH- Let's hope proximity is the deciding factor
Darius James - C - We're the team to beat so call it a gut feeling
Vincent Taylor - DT - if he is indeed offered, i think he's ours

You didn't list the positions, and I know only a few specific ones, but read in the Statesman this morning that the 2013 recruiting class is loaded with some of the best OL in recent years.

My thoughts are that this is why Raulerson came on board early as the bell cow for the class. edit: I completely showed I am not culturally literate on the cow bell / bell cow thing!! fixed it

So my anticipation is that -- him being here this weekend -- that most, if not all, the top linemen coming in will be most probable to end up here.

Raulerson has a great story to tell. He traveled extensively to many schools/programs, and that includes Alabama. He circled the range far and wide, and hands down considered Texas the very best place for him to play, grow, develop and become more powerful than a locomotive. I think he used the word "Monster."

I think Raulerson will be a key factor in reeling in the top line prospects, is what I am saying.

For those not in Austin, it was rainy this morning and forecast 50% showers today. I was just out from 11 am to now, and the day is turning out nicely. Cleared, with crisp air, shirt sleeve weather slightly cool in a moderate way. Perfect football weather. Nice day to have come to town!!!

Everything I've seen is this will be a SMALL class, even with more attrition (they're running out of non-performers they would want to leave).

Anyway, I wouldn't be surprised if there are only a few guys committing.

Kent Perkins
Naashon Hughes

I'd be surprised if it were more than that, but the most likely ones after those guys would maybe be, probably in this order:

Kyle Hicks (could be offered as an ATH, he was apparently a pretty good S before switching to RB)
Darius James
Tyrone Swoopes
A'Shawn Robinson
Jake Oliver
Durham Smythe
Ricky Seals-Jones (TE, but wants a shot at WR)

Again, I don't know anything, this is simply based on everything I've read from here and on other sites and heard on the radio.

PS, I also read, don't remember where, that if Swoopes doesn't pull the trigger that Barrett would get offered on JD2.

Word all along has been that Barrett would commit if/when offered.

After watching Kyle Hicks, I don't want him anywhere but running back. Check out what he does to poor number 17 on the last play of the video.
