News reports that Jose Lima has died in LA of an apparent heart attack.

May God comfort his family.

I met Jose when he came to Temple as part of the Astros caravan several years ago. After the organized lunch, he and I talked for about 15 minutes, and he told me he was the sole support for about 18 family members back in the DR.

I hope he invested wisely so that his family will be OK.

He was really, really nice.
