Jos. A. Banks 'Signature Suits'

What do you folks out there that have to wear suits every day think about this suit? I needed a suit fast for a wedding. I rarely wear a suit, but stopped by a Jos. A. Banks store and purchased one of their signature suits for right at $400. Did I do well, or did I get screwed?

I will say that the service was great, and the suit looked good. However, not being an everyday suit wearer, I'd appreciate feedback
Thanks..

I like their signature suits. Honestly, $400 is probably a little steep but not too bad if you need it right now. I usually just wait for a special on their website (their clearance site) and I've gotten my last two Signature suits for $249 and $99. The $99 one is actually my favorite suit right now (probably because I'm so happy with the deal I got).

They have their "executive suits" for $199 right now and "signature suits" for $299. Are they worth the extra hundo?

I bought a Signature suit over their executive suit. I think the fit is the same, but the Signature has nicer quality wool.

For the OP, I paid $299 for a signature suit.

I just bought a suit there.
I am happy with it, Navy blue with stripes.
He said it is a "classic" that I can wear anywhere.
It was very comfortable and only $300.

I'm slowly replacing my Jos A Bank suits with Brooks Bros and a small boutique clothier in Colorado Sprgs. The Jos A banks stuff doesn't fit m very well.

good suits. $400 is average price. they always have sales. $300 would really be on sale. I got a gray one that fits me really well and a blue stripe one that is ok fitting. Maybe depends on tailor but its a nice fabric.

Yeah, watch for their sales in the future. They recently did an extra 50% off of clearance and I picked up a $700 suit for $125.

I really can't stand Jos. A. Bank, but their clothes are fine.

They ALWAYS have a sale. I get so much crap from them in the mail. They actually called me on my cell phone the other day and told me they were having a sale. If I ever have to buy something from them, I would never buy it if it wasn't on sale.

I have a pair of dress pants from them. They fit kind of weird, but I still wear them.

I wonder if they just constantly have every item in the store "On sale" at what's actually its normal price.

one of the sales associates was incredibly rude to us at the arboretum location so i have a slight bias against josabank, but i still go there occasionally. i just make sure to find other sales associates.

their stuff is always on sale. i get emails at least twice a month and stuff in the mail just as frequently and there's no shortage of commercials on cnbc proclaiming a huge clearance sale.

the suits are pretty good for the money. the alterations at the arboretum shop are inconsistent: sometimes they're incredibly sloppy but the tailor is pretty good about correcting the mistake the same day.

i wouldn't buy any executive suits for over $300 and signature suits can be had easily for $400 or less. keep an eye on the clearance site too, there are some awesome deals on there.

Another option for a suit is Nieman Marcus Last Call.
I got my last 2 suits there, both over $1200 originally. Got one for about $300 and the other for $400.

I think if you wear suits on a consistent basis you probably wouldn't want to buy a whole lot of Banks stuff. However, I think they do the trick if you wear suits on an occational basis.

never use the store tailor . . . always go to an independent

I have a signature gold suit and a platinum signature (don't make them anymore i believe) suit as well as some signature, signature gold, and joseph brand pants. in general, they're ok, but like someone else said above, i'm slowing switching to BBrothers and Hickey Freeman.
