Hey folks. Inside Texas recruiting analyst Jeff Howe is in Orlando covering the Under Armour practices and we just posted a (free) report on Jordan Hicks with info on where things stand in his recruitment, his reaction to Urban Meyer's recent announcements, and his commitment time frame, among other things. Here's the link, if you are interested:

A follow-up question should be,"How do you know you will be back? Last week, you retired only to change your mind a day later. How can you now be so certain that you will be coaching again next year?"

According to a lot of different recruiting threads out there, he's telling potential recruits he will take a leave of absence from after the bowl game until July/August.

^ Not to mention the fact that he will be looming in the shadows of any successor if he is unable to coach. That seems like a recipe for failure.

Even if UM stepped down you never know when he does a Pat Riley and gets the coach fired so he can have one more go-round.

Kinda leaves Fla in a lurch and all it takes is one or two mediocre recruiting classes to tip the balance of power in that conference.

I don't like the idea of in homes by Tressell & Fla before he decides. Hopefully our other recruits will bond with him this week - superglue style.

I know this sounds pathetic- but anyone else catch the ESPN-U Under Armour practice today? Jordan Hicks was interviewed- he spoke mostly about OSU and lumped UF and Texas in a "I like their coaches and know them well" comment.

the situation at florida has been weird and would cause me to shy away from them this year. i have a lot of respect for Tressel and the program at Ohio St., and they've had a great tradition with LB's. Of course, I would absolutely love to see him in Austin and am confident he would absolutely love it--would appear to me to be a match made in heaven.

Whatever the case, I'm excited for jordan because he really doesn't have any bad options--it's not like norman is on his final list or anything!
