Jordan Danks Back to UT ?

Drafted in the 7th round, asking for 2nd round money.

I have a hard time getting behind players that do this. I'd be curious to know what the players drafted around him got.

New mantra for 72 hours:

*don't blink White Sox* *don't blink White Sox* *don't blink White Sox* *don't blink White Sox* *don't blink White Sox* *don't blink White Sox* *don't blink White Sox* *don't blink White Sox* *don't blink White Sox* *don't blink White Sox* *don't blink White Sox* *don't blink White Sox* .......

I'm not going to hold my breath b/c the White Sox can't be that stupid, but it would be awesome if he returned.

There's just no way... I bet he settles for less before the deadline, no way he passes up a sure thing (being in the pros) for more money.

Now go out and prove me wrong!

I'd like to know more specifics about the "2nd round demand." There's quite a wide range on the slotting in round two. The bonuses listed on Perfect Game range mostly from 550 to 900K with a 1.1M outlier from the Nationals who seem to overslot as much as the Yankees, and that kid had all the leverage in the world (going to Bama for football).

FYI, the Sox paid their third rounder 440K (right on slot it would seem), but they didn't have a 2nd rounder so we cant compare.

Here's a link to the bonuses for the top 10 rounds. The Link

Josh Fields, the relief pitcher from Georgia, is another example in this years draft. Came back to school, had a great year and improved his draft status considerably.
