I watched the first 14 minutes or so. After about 12 of them, I was nothing but thoroughly revolted by the entire game--centers jacking up awful three pointers and making ridiculous half court bounce passes, dozens of three on one breaks caused by everyone going to the offensive glass and ruined by bad alley oop passes, no perimeter players staying with their men when the opposing team would shoot, etc. Just crap all around.
Bradley looked pretty good. Hamilton looked very rusty until he got in the game the second time and had a sequence in which he rebounded, drove the floor, made a perfect alley oop pass (no, it wasn't a 3 on 1), and hit a three on the next possession.
Then Henson jacked up another three and decided I'd had enough of the idiocy.
Yes, the incessant Wall/Henry/Cousins/Kentucky talk was disgusting. But it is so obvious to me that John Wall is the best player in the country.
After watching the 3rd All-Star game of this year (McDonald's, Nike Hoop Summit, and Jordan Brand), I can't say what a relief it is that I won't have to watch the likes of Cousins and Renardo Sidney and Tiny Gallon going behind-the-back, bringing the ball up the court, jacking 3 point shots. I also won't have to watch pathetically skinny dudes like Mason Plumlee, Ryan Kelly, and John Henson masquerade as actual post players.
John Wall is by far the best and most talented basketball player in the country, regardless of class. To compare him to Tim Teabag is pure idiocy and a travesty. Wall isn't some stupid poser who utterly lacks talent and gets sucked up to by the media due to his supposed morals, he will be the most talented player in college basketball the moment he steps on the court. The fact that he didn't completely dominate the game is a MONSTER testament to Avery Bradley's incredible defensive abilities--he defended Wall as well as anybody could in that game.
What stood out for me was BloU recruit Tommy
Mason-Griffin standing there and arguing with the ref cuz he thought a foul should've been called while the Black Team was running a fast break in the other direction. That was a brain fart on his part unless he thinks this is the NBA. The refs let them play in this game with few whistles. The other BloU recruit
Keith Gallon thinks he's a 3 pt shooter and keeps jacking up 3's especially in the McDs game a few weeks ago. Matador defense was being played
although Bradley was all over the place when he was in the game.
Typical All Star game that if you had the ball you were going to shoot it cuz nobody was going to pass it back to you.
Annoucers said that Rick Branes wanted Bradley to play the 5 but they didn't account for Jai Lucas.
Maybe Bradley was sick of these kind of games too as he didnt play much in the second half. I think it's impossible to judge who is the best player from these games because they are street ball compared to the organized ball they have and will be playing.
There are a couple players I have been continually unimpressed with throughout these games though such as Cousins and TMG....While players like Bradley and Wall have shown great potential.
I agree that Wall was the best player on the court. He made a couple of passes that were Harlem Globetrotter ridiculous. If you had blinked you would have missed them.
I somehow managed to watch the entire game even with all the crappy play and the constant love for Kentucky who didn't even come close to the Final Four this last year. I was very impressed with Bradley once again. I can't wait to see him shut down the opposing guards in college. His defense is amazing. I also think he has much better shot selection than most of the players in the game, but like everyone has said I don't think most of the players take the game very seriously. I was also very impressed with Jordan Hamilton, especially since he didn't get to play high school ball this year. You could tell he was rusty at first but he finished very strong I thought. I was greatly suprised at his ball handling abilities. I can't wait to get both of these guys onto campus and see what they can do next year.
