Jones makes the decision.

Not quite so fast. From this morning's Dallas News:

Something I am curious about...

If the Clapper got fired, is he eligible for unemployment insurance?

While it would just be a drop in the bucket, there COULD be a fiscal advantage to Jerrah in just letting the contract expire and not be renewed...

If any of the wages were deferred no.

Raise your hand if you think any of this will increase the chances of seeing the Cowboys in the playoffs. Best I can tell, GM is still there.

Jerruh might be waiting until Jan 14 when JG’s contract expires. There may be some payout amounts if he’s officially fired before that date.

He told the local media the week before the Giants game the contract expired Jan 1. The media ramped up their stories on the subject then,,,He's just milking this. Kind of pathetic really.

According to the local news Jones has said Garrett will not be the coach next year.
Seems to be some confusion as to is it a firing or just a contract expiration on the 14th. Jerrah could save a lot of grief by just letting the contract expire. But then it is Jerrah.

Probably helpful to him that the folks that can afford a ticket and parking at Jerrahdome mostly don't know or care about the NFL standings.

ughh ... raises hand.

I've so dumped the NFL, it didn't occur to me "Jones" is Jerry Jones. My bad.

Me and she took "Victoria" for a glorious Sunday Afternoon ride. (lovin this global warming ... 5 Jan and it was pushing 70 degrees!) Fed the cows after cleaning/storing the Queen of the Road. It was a good day.

The Cowboys have approximately 25 free agents including Dak, Amari and Byron Jones. They had a window and now the players who couldn't even rise above Garrett the way Aikman, Smith and Irvin rose above Switzer want to be paid as if they won a Super Bowl.
