Anybody got a clue why UT didn't try to recruit this guy?
He was the most dynamic HS player to come out of the Greater San Antonio area since Warren McVea in the early 60s. When Tivy played Cibolo Steele (the eventual 5A Div II state champ starring Malcolm Brown), Manziel was 32 of 40 for 400+ and 6 TDs. He ran for over a hundred and 2 more TDs.
Now, four months out of HS, he was 8/9 for 115 and 2 TD in the aggy spring game on Sat. and drew rave reviews.
My heart sank when I heard that he'd changed his commitment from Oregon to aggy. God knows we needed a QB that could come in and make an impact. Were we really that sold on David Ash as our QB?
