Johnathan Gray....

.....is good at football. Last night v. Weatherford he carried 15 times for 335 yards and 5td (19, 52, 70, 65, 28). Last week v. Stephenville, 27-220-4td (9, 1, 11, 58). In two games, 42-555-9td. He has incredible vision, speed and patience...far beyond his years. Coupled with Malcolm Brown next year, we will have a great "thunder and lightening" combo. BTW, Aledo v. Lake Travis this Friday night in Aledo.

If those stats are correct he is averaging 13.2 yds per carry and scores a TD every 4.7 touches. Now that's insane.

It's not like he is a secret or a sleeper of some sort. Defenses know it is going to him and he still puts these digits up.

Must say I would like a little more durability out of a player. Maybe something like 25 carries a game.

He only carried 15 times because they led 44-7 at the half. No need to risk injury with Lake Travis on the schedule this week. He averaged about 20 carries per game last year with his team's average score at 49-12. Never missed a game in 3+ years. His durablity seems to be ok.

What about his other football skils, protection blocking, receiveing, just curious I have never seen him play.

The Lake Travis game sounds like it might be a good matchup.

Does he want to play in the SEC?

He really reminds me of Charles. Looking at him down on the field, it's almost the exact same build and speed that Jamaal had at McAllen.

Both put up dominating numbers against decent competition. Jamaal was even hurt for a few games and still owned. They're both shifty, but never to the point of moving backwards (like Ramonce and Desean Hales were in HS). Good vision.

We are set for years.

I was being sarcastic, after re-reading it, not a good job on my part. Sounds like he can catch the screen pass, any information on his blocking or any other football skills?

With all the talk heating up about TCU possibly being the 10th team to the Big 12, would or could that affect Gray's commitment to Texas, since it was between us and them?

I noticed on Rivals he's up to #6 overall and the only 5-star RB. Has he always been that high on their lists? I recall him being outside of the top 10 previously.

This years on-field performances thus far legitimize any rise in his position on the list.

He will be added to the list of great Longhorns.
