John Harris - Naaman

I saw this guy on film this weekend and will see it live Thursday night. He looks to have very quick quickness and speed. He is playing QB this year so I won't have a look at WR skills.

There was one play that stood out and showed his speed in particular. The play was a zone/stretch play to the RB. As the RB breaks into the open and makes a move in the secondary you see someone streaking ahead to block for him. Then I realize that is Harris from the QB position blowing past the RB, gettiing a quick block in and the RB is free to stroll into the endzone.

This guy can run and has good acceleration as well.

He had really nice explosiveness and change of direction. He is obviously not a QB and I know that isn't the plan at Texas. He seems to be a guy that would be dangerous after the catch.

I like guys with quick quickness, even better than guys with huge forearms.

I guess my hands were quicker than my brain. He does possess really nice acceleration.

On the subject of John Harris. He was on TV with his coach and teammates on Dallas channel 8 Sunday night during their high school football show. He seemed to be poised and talked briefly about anticipation of being a wide receiver at Texas.
