Man, I've got to pull for him now at Wrestlemania vs. The Rock. Check out the video. What logo is that on his shirt?

I remember the Texas DBs doing the "You Can't See Me" gesture a lot after big plays in '08. Then, in the '09 game at Wyoming, we were flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct for doing it, and I haven't seen it since.

Jeez i miss the days of WCW but i guess i'm old school like that. I know wrestlers would bounce back and forth back in the day but WCW wasn't nearly as theatrical as WWF. Both had plenty of story lines to follow but WCW seemed to focus on the matches where WWF at times seemed more like 90210 on roids.

I've read this entire thread twice. I haven't recognized one single name and I'm still not sure what a John Cena is.

Well, I do know Hulk Hogan. He's the guy who does the rent-a-thingie ads with Aikman. I take it he wrestled at one time.

I don't care for pro wrestling anymore, but I know a lot of people who do. They understand that it is entertainment, and not real competition. And there is no denying that those guys used to be great athletes, even if the outcome was predetermined. I don't know if they are still as athletic, as I don't watch anymore. When I was a little kid, I watched Paul Bausch and Houston Wrestling when there were only 6 TV channels in Houston. That was some entertainment.

HP- can you come up with one of your football breakdown charts for Wrestlemania?

I miss the days of Saturday Night's Main Event- holy **** would I be pissed when it was Saturday Night Live and not wrestling.

The Link

As to the issue of the Final Four, it's not really that complicated. Wrestlemania's date has fluctuated for a very long time. It's been held as early as March 14 (WM20) and as late as April 7 (WM2 and next year). There's no reason to not have it just because of a basketball event that takes up a week.

It's certainly big enough, but the reason that WM3 is still the record holder was the featured attraction. There simply isn't a Hulk vs. Andre dream match that can be booked in this age. Cena just can't draw a crowd the way Hogan did, and there's never been a greater celebrity that was involved in pro wrestling for that long than Andre. If they think they can just book Cena vs. The Big Show or Triple H or Randy Orton and break that longstanding record, they're in for a big disappointment. Just a side remark, this is another reason to hate how badly they screwed the pooch on the 2001 Invasion angle.

Anyways, I suppose they could book a title unification match between the two hot stars of the day or maybe even bring back The Rock and/or Steve Austin again, but they're going to have to come up with something good if they want to break that record.
