Jobs Biden has cost Americans

We need a thread on how many good paying jobs Biden has lost.
Started with shutting down Keystone pipeline. Was that day one?
Then Ford announced it was moving production of an ev out of Michigan to Mexico
Last month GM announced it will spend a Billion to build a new ev plant in Mexico
Now USSteel announced it is cancelling plans to spend 1.5 billion in Pa that was going to make production " green". Green! Doesn't Psaki like Green jobs.

Those are the big ones , i am sure there are more . How many thousands of good paying jobs not to mention all the ancillary businesses and jobs have been lost since Jan 20?

Yes auto mfg has been moving jobs out but wow this has to be a speed record. So many jobs lost in 5 months. Will they give Biden a Nobel for that?

Shutting down Keystone was foolish and surely cost jobs, but from what I see, we have the opposite problem - lots of jobs and few takers, because we've disincentivized going to work. If you're on unemployment right now, why would you get a job right now? Good chance you'd get less money, and you'd have to find childcare, especially if your kid's school is closed. It would be the dumbest thing you could do.

I agree. There are places where enhanced unemployment is a good thing. All unemployment doesn't fall into that category. I'd have to think about it more. But, I mostly agree with you.

I know you are not comparing the lost jobs in the areas mentioned with the jobs people are foregoing now because Biden has made unemployment more lucrative.
That would be silly, to compare a job on a pipeline or union job in an auto plant or steel plant to a job in a restaurant or fast food place going unfilled because someone can make more not working.
If you listen to the employers or owners who are complaining about Biden"s unemployment benefits being more lucrative these are for the large part not high skill jobs.

Biden has destroyed jobs and the will to get a job. Small and mid cap corporations are being shredded by Biden. They cannot find workers either, an even bigger problem to come. By 2024 work force participation will be all time historic lows.
  • Millions of jobs lost initially by attacking my industry, Oil and Gas
  • Millions of unfilled positions by paying people not to work
  • Destroying companies incentive to grow and invest with massive tax hikes!
  • Taxing the next generation with a Death Tax.

At my company we are trying to fill 15 blue collar mfg jobs. It's hard to find people even willing to interview.

I wasn't comparing them. I was simply pointing out what seems to be the bigger problem right now.

Why should they? I hate to side with the people not working, but if the government is going to pay more (or even close to the same amount) to stay home, it makes no sense to try to get hired. It's a horrible incentive. What I really fear is what happens in September when it's time to extend or let the supplemental unemployment benefits expire. It's not going to be easy to let it expire, and if you're a Democrat, why let it? We're sorta raising the minimum wage without actually raising it.

I know restaurant owners who can’t find employees, and these are very nice restaurants. If you are getting good pay to stay at home why work. Thanks Joe.

Here in UK, I'm getting a feel for how badly we're trashing the $. When we first got here back in September 2020, I was paying about $1.29 per £. I'm now paying $1.41 per £. It makes my rent in the UK about $275 per month more expensive.
 
Whoever first said Biden s***show was dead on. Starting to get to a scary phase for me. Complain as you will about Trump the character, but darn it, he was a great fit what is most important to me at this stage in my life - the economy.

The economy is important to every living human. What Biden has done and is doing results in loss of quality if life and in some cases loss if life itself.
I hope his supporters realize what is happening.
 
And if you're a retiree, inflation is the last thing you want, but we're doing everything we can to bring it on. We're printing money like crazy and paying people not to work. It's a toxic combination.
 
Seeing how fast Biden( collective since we know he is not making the decisions) has destroyed us scares ne to think whst ekse he will do.
 
Oh my, just watched Biden opening bipartisan discussions on the intrastructure and giveaway package. You do not have to be a physician to recognize physical issues of concern. It does not express any exaggeration to say he did not appear authoritative in any way. Imo, his breathing even appeared labored, or maybe deliberate is more accurate. I actually felt badly for him. Do not know how much longer this charade might continue but he’s gotten what he wanted - his name will finally be listed in history as President. Please God do not allow the country to be destroyed during his short term.

And add to that higher marginal tax rates if they get their way which could impact retirees withdrawing from retirement savings.

Yes, we were doing so well with our malignant narcissus psychopath with his daily grievance tirade! he may still lead America from a minority rules democracy to an atrocity from Elba, I mean Florida.
