If I was a Jew in Western Europe, I don't think I'd head for Israel. Iran has, or soon will have, the bombs and delivery system to reach Israel. Thanks Obama and Kerry for your masterful negotiations. It's gonna be their "legacy" you know.

It's really shocking and frankly weird. Western Europe is overwhelmed with white guilt to an almost absurd degree because of WWII and colonialism, but the group that might be most deserving of their apologies is the group to which they are most indifferent and sometimes hostile.

Taking sabre rattling too seriously can result in wars like the Iraq War. North Korea also has no intention of destroying themselves. This doesn't mean the sanctions aren't warranted.

On the Jews topic, what do you think is the reason White Western Europe is apathetic to the Jews plight?

France has a millennium-long history of rampant anti-Semitism. It ebbs and flows, but it never seems to go away. It is currently on the upswing, and Muslims are responsible for only a fraction of the increase.

Yes, France has seen some high-profile incidents of Muslim-on-Jewish violence in the last couple of years. Those incidents should neither be overlooked nor excused. Thankfully, the mainstream French-Muslim community has been supportive of the French-Jewish community and has condemned the radicals for their violence.

If you think you are being a friend to the Jewish people by pinning French anti-Semitism on Muslims, think again. Passing this off as something that is exclusively, or even largely, the fault of Muslims creates a rallying point for persecution of Muslims. This doesn't assuage Jewish fears at all. If anything, it makes us worry that we'll be next.

On the Jews topic, what do you think is the reason White Western Europe is apathetic to the Jews plight?

I think it's because Jews are white and generally Western in their attitudes. I also think some of the old Nazi-era stereotypes live on - that they're all rich, know how to rig the game at the expense of the rest of the population, etc. They aren't going to say that explicitly, but I think the stereotypes are still there to a significant extent.

Also, what NJ is saying is definitely true. This isn't just about Muslims. Islamic terrorism certainly makes matters worse, but the antisemitism of Western Europe is a deeper problem than Islamic immigration or even terrorism, which are relatively recent phenomena.

This made me think about the political faction in our country and their 'apologetic' attitude and seeming desire to be more like Europe and how, to my thinking, we largely ignored the group to which we have been historically the most hostile.
