Jewelry commercials...is it just me...

...or are they universally annoying this Christmas season...? The one with the guy and the girl looking out the window when the lightning strikes is just plain laughable.

Every time I see one of those Jared commercials I want to kill someone.

Oh and, by the way, Merry Christmas everyone. Have a great new year.
 
Yes they are always annoying. I have always thought there was a certain sense of guilt built into some of the commercials. You know.... you are a horrible insentive pig if you don't get her a gold necklace, fancy ring or diamond earings for Christmas morning instead of an annual gym membership, Jenny Craig membership or that new lawnmower.
 
This isn't the worst season for us. When the Jared commercial's first started about 3 years ago, the daughter was good friends with a weasel of a young man (also special needs kid) who was driving us CRAZY! You might guess that his name is Jared.

I actually like the kid a lot now, but back then if I heard the word Jared my face would literally split in two and fire would erupt from my eyesockets.
 
That's awesome!

I have a friend named Jared and he hates the commercials more than anybody. We sing the song to him. When he shows up somewhere the group will let out a, "It can only be JARED!". It's awesome (for us).
 
It's not a jewelry commercial, but the one I currently hate is that credit card commercial, where the wife uses all their points on a dress, and then the guy just laughs it off. WTF, he just talked about all the stuff they could have used the points on together (trips, dinner, etc) and she blew them ALL on an F'n dress? WTF?
 
Ditto on jewelry commercials trying to guilt you into a purchase. For example, "Say 'I love you' like never before" = buy her useless shiny crap.

"He went to Jared" is about the most annoying marketing campaign I've ever heard, and somehow it's been going on for years.
 
Marketing/advertising majors must be the dumbest people alive (unless they work for Budweiser or the company that does Sportscenter). Every couple of weeks there's a thread about stupid commercials, and then it's just people posting about all these other stupid commercials. Is every marketing/advertising major just a complete moron that fails at what they do or am I missing something here? It seems like it would be easier to just list the ads that don't piss us off since that list would be much shorter.
 
Actually, the dumb advertisers are brilliant. We are talking about their company, right? Maybe in a negative light but they still have legs on their ad campaign. Business is obviously doing well for them. Bums me out too. I would love for Jared to go out of business.
 
So Third - how did Christmas morning go with the Jareds gift to your sweetie? Like the commercials?

The real question to anyone that bought a Jareds gift for their sweetie will be: how did Christmas night go?
 
OK....what are the BlackBerry commercials trying to sell with the "all you need is love" campaign...? Are they trying to be "hip" and capture some of the IPhone market...? If so....FAIL.
