Jewelers (Watches) in Dallas

Going to buy a nice watch - i know there are tons of reputable places in other cities (New York, Houston, etc.) which will sell you a reasonably high end watch (Rolex, Breitling, IWC) at 25-35% off of retail price since the margins are so high on them.

Can anyone recommend such a place? I'm not particularly interested in going to the Galleria and paying full price at one of those stores.

It really depends on what brand you are looking for, but I've bought from Lussori (lussori.com), Govberg (govbergwatches.com), Exquisite Timepieces (mytimesquare.net). They are all authorized dealers which means you get a factory warranty and since they are outside of Texas, you avoid sales tax. As far as grey market, prestigetime.com is excellent.

As far as Rolex, I don't believe you can call an out of state dealer and have one shipped to you. I think Rolex prevents dealers from doing this. There are some sellers on Ebay that sell new Rolexes at bigger discounts than you would get at an authorized dealer, and yes, they are authentic and brand new. If interested, let me know and I'll PM you those sellers.

A few months ago I purchased a 2 week old (used for that long) 2008 M serial Rolex Submariner Date from Cayce Fuqua at preownedrolex.com. It had a blank no-name warranty card so the factory warranty is mine as well. I had it authenticated and it is 100% legit and he is based in Tennessee so I didn't pay sales tax. Before tax is even factored in, I saved well over $1000 off of what Ben Bridge would have charged me for a watch in the same condition. I did plenty of research beforehand and spent a lot of time on rolexforums.com to get feedback.

I'd recommend that seller if you're looking specifically at a Rolex.

Do any of you have a tax ID? If so it would be worth paying a bit to get into the World Trade Center in Dallas. Whole 7th floor is wholesale exchange. This is were the retail dealers go.
