Jessica Simpson's Dentist Shocked by Her (Lack of) Brushing

uh, yeah...

Jesus you guys are lazy.

Read the first paragraph, she told Ellen that her dentist was shocked.

She told Ellen, not her dentist. It would have taken a fraction of the time to read that first sentence as it did to make that post.

doctors, dentists, gynecologists, therapists, whatever, shouldn't be responding to, or commenting to the media, or anyone else for that matter, on anything having to do with their patients. That really isn't that hard to comprehend is it?

I think a dentist has a higher duty to the profession. If somebody with glittering teeth and whose appearances fees for an event probably equals what a good dentist makes in a year -- suggests its ok to go 3 days between brushing, I can't think of a dentist who wouldn't take the opportunity to refute that. The dentist didn't reveal anything about Jessica beyond the fact that he disagrees with her suggestions on tooth care.

You weren't merely incorrect about the "sentence structure." Nearly everything you've contributed to this thread has been factually incorrect, including your original claim that Jessica Simpson "told Ellen that her dentist was shocked." According to the article, Simpson didn't say anything about her dentist or his feelings; you either made it up or were too lazy to actually read the original article in your rush to denounce others as such.

i remember the good ole days, back when a Jessica Simpson thread discussed her boobies, not whether dentists were doctors or not.

times change i guess.

When someone yells out some one get a doctor, they mean an MD. When some is talking about a doctor the accepted thinking is a doctor of Medicine. I don't want to get into a drawn out debate about whether or not Colonel Sanders is an actually Colonel. The argument of that sort is preposterous.

My claim in my 1st post was that the doctor revealed nothing about Jessica. That is as true today as it ever was. This was my sole purpose of my original post.

Calling a person lazy for not reading a whole article and then showing a funny picture (meaning it was light hearted) is far different than calling someone an idiot, troll, or woefully deficient in reading comprehension, among various other things you have said.

I have never made such remarks to you, all I wished was the same in return. I even asked you politely by saying, "If you are going to respond, may I ask the favor of you not insulting me, thanks." Following this you called me an idiot.

I'm sorry I upset you it was not my intention.

The first 2 years of training are nearly the same for both dentists and doctors. This is because, if a person has an emergency in the chair, the dentist can handle the situation until EMS arrives. Further, dentists perform simple surgeries like extractions, implants and gingivectomies, give injections and may perform biopsies for oral diseases including cancer. Further, dental specialists such as periodontists and oral surgeons perform much more complex surgeries such as cleft lip and palate, TMJ surgeries, Le Forte and even plastic surgery.

And yes, Dentists are bound by HIPAA. Any healthcare provider, health care clearinghouse or health plan (such as an insurance company) must comply with HIPAA. The HIPAA regulations refer to the healthcare providers required to abide by HIPAA as covered entities (CE). Dental practices that bill electronically for their services are covered entities and must comply with HIPAA.
