Jermichael vs. Holla per Todd McShay

A pair of Texas juniors -- Jermichael Finley (Texas) and Martellus Bennett (Texas A&M) -- will be jockeying for position in the second-to-third round range. Bennett is the more hyped of the two and is clearly further along in his development, but I wouldn't think twice about taking Finley higher than Bennett. Finley is far more athletic and has a much better attitude.

Five with the most to gain (at the combine)

2. Jermichael Finley, TE, Texas
A surprise junior addition to the 2008 class, Finley is flying under the radar right now. He's undersized and unpolished, but you can't coach the type of athleticism this 6-5, 240-pounder will showcase in Indianapolis. Mark my words: Finley's post-combine stock will rise higher than any of the other 17 tight ends expected to attend.

Not sure which game it was, but near the end of the season I watched aTm play and in the 4th Bennett "went off," kind of. I think they were losing, and began to finally throw the ball and MB was the #1 outlet. He made some really good catches. Probably five catches at the end of the quarter. It was the first time in his career I understood what disappointed (clear headed) aggy was saying. Of course it didn't have too much import on the game, as I remember, because he didn't catch the ball more than 8 yds from LOS.

I was dissappointed to see JMike leave. I thought he would differentiate himself next season. After reading why he was ready to go, to take care of his children, I understand. Life doesn't happen in a vacuum.

Athleticism? I am not sure who wins. I think MB has an inch and some lbs on JMike. I know MB was considered a very good prospect BBall-wise. I know J-Mike had an offer from Lute at Zona, which makes me thankful he wanted to play football. Not sure who wins there.

Productivity? No question JMike. MB gets a ? because it is clear he was under-utilized.

Intangibles? I dunno.

Motivation? JMike is leaving to put food on the table. MB is leaving because he thnks his draft status is as high as it will be. I've never met Jermichael, but I cannot believe he felt that his draft stock is as high as it would be next year. I think Finley has decided that his ability to earn now is more important than what he could earn next year.

I am perfectly fine with JMike leaving. He is married with 1 or 2 kids. He wants to provide for them. And Hollas character I think has some really question marks. He is obviously in love with himself from the numerous nicknames which he has given himself. He seems to be someone who is all about the money as well (NBA Draft when he was not even an overly impressive high school player). JMike is pretty quiet and reserved and makes plays. He needs money whereas Holla wants it.

That is not the only reason that he is leaving but raising kids while in college is not easy. I'm sure that was a big part of his decision.
