For two draft picks...

I didnt have a source but it just flashed up on the ESPN ticker as BREAKING NEWS..

I guess they could use a big TE...

It was for a 2nd and 5th round pick. Which to me seems a little pricey considering hes coming off of injury, and hardly played last year.

However Shockey will be reunited with his old OC. This trade might even be the reason I take Shockey as my fantasy TE.

Bad move by the Giants!! He is still in the top five TE in the game and Boss was good however Schokey took heat off of the recievers and was Eli security! Well like what was earlier the Cowboy's secondary can sleep a little easier tonight!

Shockey was a big-mouth team distraction, without whom the team flourished.
A trade was inevitable after last season.

I definately think that with this move, adding Jonathan Vilma, and getting Sedrick Ellis in the 1st round, the Saints will be a much improved team. Not sure if they will win their division, but they are much closer to being considered the favorite to win it.

'Evil' Roy Williams needs to send Sean Peyton a gift basket for pulling off this trade so now he doesn't have to deal with Shockey beating his *** on every play 2x a year.

As a die hard Giants fan, I can tell you most in NY are very happy with this trade. Shockey's act has grown old with a lot of fans. He ******* whenever he doesn't get the ball. Eli will be much better off without having to listen to Shockey's big yap. We all saw this with Eli's performace without Shockey in the playoffs.

Shockey withrew himself from the Giants. He pouted because he saw the team thrive without him. He didn't take part in any Super Bowl celebrations. Many Giant fans, including me, were willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, hoping he'd just get over it. But the last straw was when Shockey initiated a shouting match with the mild mannered Giants' GM, Jerry Reese. Shockey did this in front of the team and press at the last Giant minicamp.

The Giants are a young team, without distractions from Shockey, they are capable of making another run this year. This was the biggest reason he was traded.

Besides, the Giants have 5 TE's, including Kevin Boss who did quite well in the playoffs. Shockey has never been the dominating player he thinks he is. He loves to drop passes that hit him right in the hands. And he gets hurt every year. As far as playing well against the cowboys, the only game the Giants won against the 'Boys this year was without him in the playoffs.

Good riddance. He deserves to be an AINT.

Maybe the change will do him good if he stays healthy, but on the flip side getting a couple of draft picks for an injury prone malcontent is definitely a good move for the Giants.
